Sindom
With a balanced diet, herbal remedies, and unwavering care, Sindom has overcome adversity, regained his health, and now explores a world of equestrian possibilities.
Sindom is a 12 year old purebred arabian who had not experienced any skin issues up until approximately September 2021. He had some issues with lethargy and lack of appetite which upon investigation led to a diagnosis of Ross River. He began to suffer from Itch not long after the Ross River symptoms began and within a couple of months it became an extreme issue.
These pictures document the last 18 months of progress in healing, with some setbacks along the way. Sindom is now on a pasture specific balanced diet alongside use of the herbal itch cream and tonic. Environmental triggers such as Privet flowering and extensive prolonged flooding in our area slowed his healing progress down a little but as you can see we are around 98% of the way there.Â
Part of his healing process involved addressing the Ross River virus using a specially formulated herbal blend and the blood results on liver function now shows a healthy liver compared to the compromised one from September 2021.
He is happier within himself and we are now trying out all avenues of Equine disciplines to find our place in the ridden world. There was a time where I didnt think we would be able to do more than the occasional slow walk due to his issues but we are now back to enjoying ourselves. Â
